As with all software products, OpenRPG is constantly updated and patched so that it works as expected for all users. As such, you will want to update your software occassionally.
Updating is easy. Simple type "/update get" and send it to the chat buffer. OpenRPG will do the rest. You will be required to restart your program again.
Should you wish to do it manually, you can obtain the latest version of OpenRPG from www.openrpg.com under the "Get OpenRPG" link. As you update, we highly recommend that you use the versions of Python and wxPython listed with the update. Although the program should run with unrecommended versions, certain functions may not run as expected. To avoid technical issues, you should make sure that all your software versions match the developers recommendation.
When manually updating, make sure to backup your "My Files" directory as this will be over-written with the new version. Should you not make a copy of your old folder, you will lose all of your nodes, trees, and personal OpenRPG files.
We do not force people to upgrade, as each client is backwards compatable. However, there will come a point where we will no longer support old versions of OpenRPG. As a general rule of thumb, you will easily find support for the current version, and the most recent version before that. Remember the program is free, so is upgrading!
