Opensource.

Was free, then for-pay, then free.Hasn't changed in years.

Still in development - could work as a mapping add-on to a chat client with a die roller, but still fairly primitive. Opensource.

Pretty much a chat client.

Text only, and proud of it. Basically a glorified chat client.

Looks to be the most sophisticated payware virtual tabletop

Painfully bad GUI, mostly intended for use at gaming table

Next to no automation, other than character sheet doing some of the math for you. Neat dice-rolling animation, but all rolls are done manually - no dice macros, ever.

Easy to use, clean interface, send audio or visual aids, attach portrait art and/or audio clips to units, some animation support, drawing tools, text label tool, range measuring, export screenshots, card deck support, powerful dice macros w/ no scripting, FUDGE dice

Fast, No fixed scale, Pan & Zoom, Graphics hardware assisted, Free Dice app with graphics and macros, Able to create huge detailed seamless maps.
