My Character Sheets

First things to consider

  • .1 First and foremost, you must have the desire to DM, and play, as well. If you dont really like the game to start with, and have been cajoled, or otherwise convinced to DM a game, forget it....! You must be far more committed than you would have to be for a tabletop game. There is a lot more setup, and correspondence that accompanies an online scenario.

  • .2 Patience, Patience, and patience. You'll also need a large dose of patience, and understanding. Of course this is dependent on the group that you will be playing with, are they all OpenRPG rookies, or all veterans ? Veterans will have preconcieved ideas, and expect a relatively smooth gaming experience, while beginners will be more chaotic, and have a learning curve to overcome that differs drastically for individuals. Some pick it up right away, others it takes a bt, but most eventually get it after a session or two.
  • .3 Organized OpenRPG DM is a happier DM.This again is a personal and subjective thing, but the more you can plan for and have ready to go, the more time you save to devote to meaningful dialog. The state of the art being what it is, there is little reason not to have all the stats on hands. A little forethought and preparation pays huge dividends. More time for you too devote to forwarding, or progressing a interesting story.

  • .4 Too be continued.... please fellow DMs, feel free to add to the WIKI. If you are unaware how, dont want to learn or whatever the reason, If you have a good idea, get in touch with me, Graiskye, I will gladly enter your idea if you submit one . I will be adding more as I have time, and as I find helpful stuff. Im just getting the hang of the WIKI,so stay tuned.
